like a walk out of toronto
like a light to a moth
I’m gonna keep right on writing
till my wheels roll right off
I hate to think it
though my minds going soft
but I’ll keep writing these roads
till my wheels roll right off
and every good moment
that seems so sublime
might never see daylight
if I am reclined
so you poets and painters
and lovers of art
Hang on to those threads
that pull on your heart
but don’t pull too hard
for the thread will unwind
like a greyhound in transit
that just left you behind
so here are some ear muffs
and here is a poem
and here’s to the sailors
who never left home
who might think this road
is a whole lotta crock
who can’t understand
how you ever got lost
and I have no answers
just this punch drunken rhyme
that might start lookin better
if you give it some time
