Oh, I miss bottle mail, it was a such great experience. It was a little software that shows a beach that changes appearance according the time of day, with waves sound and animated water. Really pretty and simple. You used to make a bitmap image, than click in “send” and a little animation shows a message in a bottle and throws that bottle in the virtual ocean. Minutes later, you used to receive a message from another (random) user, with an image that that user did. I used to receive images from all part of the world, mostly from Japan. I loved that software. Too bad this service ended, but I still have some images saved in a CD. =)
There are still some pages at internet that shows some “bottle mails”.
