The facial was amazing… I was actually only able to do the short one, but everything feels so clean and fresh. I bought their products to use at home and am liking the feel, but it’s too soon to tell the effect the products will have on my skin.
I have another facial booked next month, so we’ll see how I’m looking and feeling then.
I’m hopeful and I’m excited to use the products. Now to drag my butt off the couch and go wash the makeup off my face….
Overall, my skin has been much better than in past years, but it’s still far from perfect. I really think the main thing that will help me is to wash my face twice a day, every day; especially before bed. Going to sleep with makeup on just destroys my pores.
The products I’m using seem to do a good job without being too harsh. I’m going to stick with it a while longer, but try to be better about washing up more regularly.
Also, I need to get my makeup situation sorted out. I have an airbrush system and the lightweight formula is wonderful and does a great job covering blemishes that do appear. However, the compressor is broken. It’s under warranty, I’ve just been lazy about addressing it and my skin is paying the price.
Oh, and I just booked my first ever facial appointment for Friday. They’re on sale at ULTA and I think the acne one will do me some good, but we’ll see what they recommend at the consultation. We’ve been seeing a little winter weather, and that can be very bad for my skin.
The Clarisonic is definitely working and improving the texture of my skin. I’m currently using a cocktail of products in addition to the Mario Bediscu products and Lush’s Dark Angels cleanser.
My skin is much smoother and much more comfortable than it used to be, I just really have to stay on top of washing every night before bed and using my makeup remover to get a fresh canvas first.
After while not really sticking to any particular regimen, I’m starting fresh in the new year.
I picked up the clarasonic Mia tool and a few Mario Badescu acne products and I like what it’s doing to my skin. The Clarisonic’s super effective at removing dirt and makeup and the products in conjunction with my benzoyl peroxide cream seem to be improving my texture.
I am also getting the sense that my pores are starting to purge themselves so hopefully clear skin is in my near future.
My flare-ups have been surprisingly mild for this time of month, although my cycle is irregular and late this month, so all hell could be about to break loose on my face in the coming days. Fingers crossed.
As far as products go, I got a generic foam system replacement at Walgreens and I’ve been trying to use it regularly, supplementing it with my 10% wash as well.
It’s been about a month. Unfortunately, the Max Clarity Foam pumps kind of broke on me, so I haven’t been using them at all in the past week.
It’s also unfortunate that I’m at that point in my cycle again, so my face is really taking a beating. On top of breaking out like crazy again, my skin is also getting uncomfortably dry around my eyes, mouth, and nose.
I hope I’ll be getting a new shipment of foam soon, so I can give it another try before I write off this product.
The one product I have really found that is helping is a sulfur spot treatment; Kate Somerville EradiKate. That alone isn’t giving me clear skin, though.
I got my foam delivered, and after two days I’m liking what I’m seeing. I can’t really say if it’s my skin clearing itself after a rough patch, the supplies I got from Sephora earlier in the week, the sun I’m getting, or the foam itself. Probably a combination of all of those factors.
Hopefully this stuff will continue to impress me.
The old routine has not worked as I’d hoped. I had a coupon from Sephora, so I picked up some spot treatment goodies. I also ordered one of the kits off the internet. Max Clarity foam, I think.
My skin was just at it’s worst point in it’s cycle this week, and I broke down and figured it can’t hurt to try.
I think I’m getting somewhere, but then my face blows up like this.
And it is starting to get dry. Some of it might be seasonal allergies adding to it, but it’s getting old. I’ll stick it out for another 10 days, then see about backing down to something gentler.
Also, I’m going to make an oatmeal and honey mask and hope that helps.
1. Wash face with 10% Benzoyl Peroxide cream 2x daily. Open pores with hot water first, then gently lather and work cream into face for 2 minutes. Rinse.
2. DDF 2.5% Acne scrub to supplement product 1 in AM for exfoliation.
3. Clean & Clear Oil Free foaming cleanser with .25% triclosan (antiseptic) to supplement product 1 in PM for makeup removal.
4. Clean & Clear Dual action Moisturizer with Salicylic Acid .5% for AM moisturizer.
5. Retinol night cream with 400000 IUs of Vitamin A for PM moisturizer.
6. DDF 1O% sulfur therapeutic Acne Mask Spot treatment as needed.
7. (Not pictured) Neutrogena’s Acne Stress Control Triple-Action Toner with 2% Salacylic Acid 1-2x daily after washing.
This seems to really be helping my skin as far as acne problems go. I have very sensitive skin as well, but have found the drying minimal. Also, I thought the retinol cream would be far too heavy, and might cause additional breakouts. I was wrong. Everything seems to be working pretty well.
Also, I made a few other changes: I’m washing my face for a longer period of time. 2 minutes so the medicine has a chance to be active and penetrate my pores.
I’m moisturizing! I didn’t do this often enough before because I thought oily skin didn’t need any more moisture.
I’m not going to bed without washing my face. Sometimes I’d just be “too tired” and I’d go to bed with makeup still on my face! No more!
Hopefully I’ll see even more results as I keep with this.
