I'm so tired 2 years ago

The reunion was a blast! If not a bit overwhelming to see so many familiar faces in such a short span—it could have gone on for a couple weeks before I had time enough to catch up with everyone. Hope to see more of everyone over the coming years.

Norm, Hal, Nena and others are uploading their reunion photos here:

$6,900 so far 2 years ago

Teresa just called me—she’s collected about $6,900 and will need $1,000 so she can break even. She’s fronted all the money herself … so if you haven’t paid yet please drop her some cash:

How do I pay?

  • Paypal the funds directly to tessamessy@yahoo.com
  • mail a check the old fashioned way:
    Caterinichio/1986 Reunion
    20719 Williamsburg Drive
    Eagle River, Alaska 99577

How much do I pay?
$125 for a single
$175 for a family

Let's talk money, honey 2 years ago

So far 41 classmates have paid the reunion fee (thanks!). Teresa has been footing the bill for much of the reunion activities while payments roll in. It would be great if you’re attending to pay Teresa in the next few days.

How do I pay?

  1. Paypal the funds directly to tessamessy@yahoo.com
  2. mail a check the old fashioned way:
    Caterinichio/1986 Reunion
    20719 Williamsburg Drive
    Eagle River, Alaska 99577

How much do I pay?
$125 for a single
$175 for a family

Hey! I paid, but I’m not on the paid list.
Sorry Charlie. Reply to this entry and Hal will update the paid list.

Is there a registration form?
Yep. It’s helpful for Teresa, but not totally necessary if you don’t have a printer handy. Click here for the registration form.

Now that we’ve got the air cleared, I shall be the first to buy Teresa a shot for all her hard work. See you freaks in a couple weeks!

86 entries on 43 Things 3 years ago

Here’s one for all you crazy conspiracy theorists (that includes me!). Not only 86 entries but 43×2 = 86. Whoa.

I just ruined it by posting the 87th entry. But you get my point.

found Doug Davlin: photography/yearbook teacher 3 years ago

I don’t know how many people took classes from Doug Davlin, but it sounds like he’s looked a bit at the site and is impressed with the yearbook scans (thanks to Norm). From what I can gather through a Google search it looks like Mr. Davlin is still actively involved in photography via KAP (kite aerial photography). Here’s a link to some aerial shots by Davlin that Kevin Ellis discovered.

I sent him an email inviting him to the reunion. Maybe we can round up some other teachers?

Here are the 3 main reunion events. Click on the link, then the I’m going button (you can opt out later if need be) and Teresa will have a better idea of who’ll be attending (which reminds me that I’ve got to send in my check!). Thanks again Teresa for organizing this whole thing:

Fri, Aug 4 @ Snow City Cafe

Sat, Aug 5 @ Manrique’s Brasserie

Sun, Aug 6 @ Alaska Zoo

a tip for my friends 3 years ago

Sounds like plenty of us are trolling this page to see who has arrived and what we’re all writing once we’re here. I thought you may enjoy this little time saver:

1) click on a person’s name/picture to get to their profile page
2) click on the word “subscribe” to the right of their picture
3) then go here: http://www.43people.com/subscriptions

Now you’ll see every entry or comment from the folks you’ve subscribed to. No need to hunt and peck through all the comments to see what’s new. It takes a few minutes to click the “subscribe” link next to everyone’s name, but once you do you’ll be set and can simply check the subscriptions link on 43 People to see what’s happened since you were gone.

Let me know if you have any questions.

In Seattle 3 years ago

Everyone is posting such eloquent entries that I thought I’d chime in. I’m currently living in Seattle, a 25 minute walk from downtown. I work with a few friends running these websites:

43 Things | 43 Places | 43 People | All Consuming

I look a bit different as I’m … hairless. I’ve had a little thing called alopecia universalis for about 8 years, which is a fancy way of saying I’m genetically bald. Or as my brother Gregory says, “you look like you’re either 6 months old or 65”. Babygramps.

I actually lived in Anchorage for a year or so after college then moved back to Seattle to go to music school. I promptly dropped out. I lived in London for a year and worked all sorts of places along the way: bank, Amazon.com, touring, janitorial, making websites. Seattle is my home.

I’ve been to Anchorage at least a couple times a year—usually fishing and visiting family in the summer and skiing in the winter. Other than that I work on the house, weed the garden, run (a bit) and try to stay out of trouble. Which is easy as I fall asleep early. Often by 10pm.

I’ll be soliciting relationship advice from some of you after a few drinks. Namely, should I get married now or wait until I’m 50? I believe a beer bong may be in order. I look forward to seeing everyone!

A reunion .. and fishing? 3 years ago

Teresa asked me to create this goal—and invite people along for the ride. I plan to return to West High around August 4-6 to see everyone and perhaps go fishing with my brothers.

It’s free to join 43 Things and you can adopt this goal by clicking the I want to do this button. Also, use the invite people to do this link (upper right) and you can invite people using their email address. Wash, rinse, repeat … and we should get everyone on board.

See y’all soon!
