Make 43 Things Faster

other than talking with Ivan, Laurel, Josh, Todd & Buster. The sites seems pretty zippy now so I’m marking this off my list.

Since I adopted this goal the sites have definitely become faster. Or maybe staying-up-consistently is the best description. We still have sluggishness that we need to address. And replicating the database will prevent the daily 30 minutes of down time. There’s been good progress on making 43T faster and I hope in 2-3 weeks we have it fasterer.

It’s really what Josh calls the “magic typers” (the 4 Robots that know how to code) that do the heavy lifting with respect to making the site faster. I just listen, observe, talk about it and try to give support.

I know that making the site(s) faster involves overlapping issues, but we just turned subscriptions off for an hour and things seem to be humming. If subscriptions are a major big culprit we’ll have to find a way to make them scale—as we’re all addicted to subscriptions!
