Hey, I work at minimum wage... — 1 month ago
This is my first entry here, it looks like a cool site, that will help me keep track of my goals and become a little more organized.
I’m 19 and I work at a Rite Aid drug store. I started working there when I was 18, and it’s my first and only job, aside from a week long stint at another minimum wage job and then they stopped calling me to work.
For me being in college it’s a necessity to constantly be employed: I have a difficult time as it is paying for bills and I live at home still. I try and scrape up money to put towards the day down the line where I will have to pay thousands of dollars in college loans that I hope will be worthwhile.
The job isn’t fun, but it’s simple. Customers aren’t nice on the whole and don’t understand how thankless and dull the job is. But it’s something and it’s much better than nothing. So I’d say it’s, “worth doing.”
However I really want to get into waiting tables or even being a busboy. I’m certain with tips they make a lot more than I do.
