Been writing mostly poetry but also some flash fiction that I was going to submit to a literary journal until I realized that I missed the deadline, and some stuff for my writing classes. I also formed an artists group and have gotten involved with poetry readings.

I got over a major block tonight and it has left me totally stoked! And I’ve just put onto my plate some more creative projects! Striking while the iron’s hot…
1. I have spoken to my job about being a blog contributor if they start one.
2. I have two flash fictions that I want to submit to journals. One is finished. One needs a rewrite of the ending.
3. I have a personal essay that I’d like to submit to a magazine.
4. I have an article idea that I’d like to submit to a magazine.
5. Still searching for an open mic night for my poetry.
1. Flash fiction – submit the one I wrote and/or write a new one and submit them
2. Pitch front of book/article idea to a magazine
3. Offer corporate writing services to a local business
4. Read some of my poetry at an open mic
5. Look for more art school modeling opportunities
I’ve taken a one day seminar on magazine writing at The Writing Salon and then I took their 5 week class. I’ve got a children’s book writing class this month and perhaps another one day seminar in August.
working on my self help book and one of my childrens books.
I also am making a running list of ideas as they come up.
No more waiting around. I have too much to do and life is passing me by. Here is a list of creative projects. It is not complete and it is forever ongoing:
Do something with my Salome poems
Submit my flash fiction somewhere
Write my self-help book
Write my cookbook
Find out what is the SF equivalent of Backstage
Write and get up the balls to perform a performance art piece
Write a song with my boyfriend
Write MANY songs with my boyfriend and put out an album
Find a school/studio that is looking for models
Finish my Shakespeare project
Take an acting class again
IF my feet can be fixed, take a ballet class again
IF they cannot be fixed, maybe take it anyway
Get back in the wonderful habit that I once had in London and for fleeting periods in New York of working like mad on acting, singing, dancing, and writing
Talk to my dad about photography
Get into a writing group
Get into a performing workshop where we write and perform each others work
Write more poetry
Write for local publications – both literary and journalistic
As you can see, I suffer from “I-want-to-do-it-all-itis”.
Why can’t I get myself started? I need to take a good hard look at all the creative ideas that I have had – whether I started them or not – and make a list of ones I want to work on. Maybe I’ll list them here.
I used to have high aspirations of creative projects I wanted to work on. All kinds of writing – fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and acting and directing, singing, performance art, artist modeling etc. But I feel like I lost my nerve and lost my way. But the creative bug is biting me again. I might have my mom send my Artist Way book and start doing the course again. I did the twelve week thing twice and loved it both times.
I really want to have a lot of cool projects to work on. Ok – by the end of the weekend I want to have started (or better yet completed) one creative project. Like a poem or some flash fiction. Or if there is some performance art piece I could sign up for that would be cool too.
