Tae bo!  — 3 months ago

So I tried a one-hour class of tae bo today, and I loved it! Love, love, loved it! This is so the exercise for me. I’m a pretty aggressive person, and I love pretending that I’m punching and kicking an imaginary target in my mind. Also, we change moves every few sets, which is great, as I hate repeating anything too long and I get bored easily. I was a little intimidated by the class description before, but now I’m glad I decided to step out of my aerobics/step/conditioning/dance bubble of gym classes.

Although, ok, I still did half an hour of hip hop and ten minutes on the stationary bike in between classes, but still. Progress.

Wooh  — 3 months ago

Did 2 hours of exercise last Wednesday—one general aerobics class (forgot what it was called), and an hour of Hip Hop, from which I learned that I have no kinetic memory. At all. But it was fun, sort of. At least it wasn’t the same step routines and strength exercises that the other classes do.

Then did nothing until Saturday, when I did about 20-30 min of home calisthenics—crunches, pushups, etc.

Then nothing until today, Tuesday. Went to the gym right after class, worked out for about two hours, including the first 20 min of an upper body class. I had to leave early because I had already killed my arms and shoulders with rowing, and I wasn’t feeling too high energy, since I didn’t have time yet to eat a full meal.

Anyway, that was pretty good. I plan on going to hip hop again tomorrow, and maybe tae bo before it. Taebo! I’ve always wanted to try it. :)

...But am attempting to get back into the groove!

No, no I haven’t. I’ve actually made no progress. It’s Spring Break, and I’m being lazy. However, I will get back to this once I get back to school (on the April Fools Day)!

It’s finals time and I plan to devote every waking minute to the books. Except um, this one, because I’m on 43T right now.

Working out in the morning makes me feel productive for the rest of the day, and I’m up and energized, whereas if I don’t work out, I’m usually sleeping till noon.

Did an upper body workout class today for 45 min and then speedwalked 35 min on the treadmill while reading Paradise Lost. And watching TV. And listening to music. I’m an avid multitasker.

Went to the gym today at 5:30, and there were people there already! Of course they weren’t really working out. They were actually camping out in the empty part of the room. I am hoping that people don’t use the gym as a place to have sex when their roommates aren’t in. And if they do, I hope housekeeping cleans the gym daily.

Did some light exercise today. Just 30 minutes jogging around my room while listening to a fitpod mix. I actually got my heart rate up though, so good-o for that. Now, my next goal is to actually make it to the gym…

Plain and simple  — 1 year ago

Went to the workout room today, did 30 min on the bike, 10 on the rowing erg, and 10 on the stair stepper. Yeah, I could have done more, but I wasn’t feeling it today. Some days are like that, but I always just let it pass and figure tomorrow will be better. It almost always is.
