Learn some other languages besides english

I learned italian, french, latin, german at school. Promptly forgot 99 percent immediately. Had a Greek girlfriend and a korean girlfriend, visited a lot of places, learnt a smattering of everything but couldnt do much with it. I want to sit down and learn intensively some one else language. I always marvel at people who can speak multiple languages. I have friends who can speak five. Which pisses me off for my own ignorance. But then again coming from a monolinguistic society like rural australia gives me some slack I reckon. Anyways it starts aqui!
