Should include a(n):
- spiral tube slide
- tyre swing/normal swing/a rope
- firefighter’s pole
- net
- suspension bridge that connects with a platform in another tree
- ladder
- multiple levels
- luke
Hm… anything else? What would be a “must have” in your tree house?

It should be situated at the back of the house so that you can enter the garden. Again, here is a picture of what it should be like: some comfy sofas, ample space, high glass ceilings and loads of plants in the room (I know, there are no plants in the picture, so I’m afraid you have to use your imagination ;-)
Just imagine a warm summer day. You could sit there with your friends, chatting and having a good time while still being able to keep an eye on the kids (if they had decided to play in the garden). It’s also a great place to retreat to with a book or simply to relax while listening to some music :-) Besides, just imagine a candle-light dinner with loads of candles in the room ^^

I would love to have something like this in the attic for the children to play in or to read out books to them (btw, the pic is a screen capture from the film “The Holiday”).

For everyone of you who is wondering what the hell an indoor stair slide looks like: here’s a picture. It would be a nice addition to the attic staircase :) (since it’s gonna be the kids playroom anyway). So, it’s decided then ^^ Attic spiral staircase = check.

This is a possible idea for a secret room entrance. The question would be, where to place the secret room (or maybe I just have to make the room a little bit bigger and then divide it with an additional wall to get two rooms?). Nonetheless, I know I would get jealous if my brother had something like that in his room and I didn’t. Tricky… But, still, one hell of a cool idea.
P. S. It just hit me! I’m going to have two playrooms – one for the kids in the attic and one for the grown-ups in the basement. I could place a partition wall in the attic and make it a secret room! Thus, no one will be jealous – plus, there is plenty of space in the attic anyway :-)

Hey, I haven’t forgotten about this goal – just been busy with my life ;) However, there are so many things that inspire me to add something to the design of the house that I end up thinking “Where am I suppose to start?” Anyway, I guess I’ll just start somewhere and take it from there :-)
So, let’s create a list and just write some ideas down (to make sure I don’t forget anything):
For the kids- tree house in the garden + sandpit + swing
- indoor stair slide
(maybe, not sure yet – b/c of pros & cons) - secret room
(maybe) - huge trampoline for the garden
For the “grown-ups”...everything else :P (yes, the playroom included – although, it is actually intended for both, kids and grown-ups :-).
- maybe solar equipment (if it’s worthwhile – depends on where the house will be)
- plus (note to myself) looking up other gadget/environmentally friendly things I could add to the house
(List will be updated when I get new ideas)
I always wanted to have those things which are listed under “kids” when I was little. Think my future kids would love them, too ^^

I can remember drawing up a concept for my room when I was 11. You know… how my perfect room was supposed to look like. I had cut furniture out of a catalogue and had added it to a piece of paper – and, eventually, after 3 years, I had exactly the room I planned to have ^^
Now I’m a grown-up and naturally am aiming for bigger things – like trying to take over world domination… nah, just kidding xD (well, still not all grown-up I guess). But, seriously, I like to plan bigger things in advance, which is not only making it easier in the end, but it’s, too, a lot of fun to do so and a good strategy to get through the waiting period.
I’m going to make several entries, otherwise this will become the size of a book Oo
Okay, I’ll start with the basics – rooms and floors.
What kind of rooms would I like to have in my house and how many floors?
The attic
Playroom – for the kiddies
The first floor (2nd floor for American readers ;-)
Shared bedroom (me and my husband)
Children’s room #1
Children’s room #2
Children’s room #3
Children’s room #4
Children’s room #5
Bathroom
Balcony
Ground floor (1st floor for American readers ;-)
Kitchen
Living room
2nd Bathroom (for guests)
Guestroom
My study
Sun room / winter garden
Garden (outside of course ;-)
Paddock (same as above)
Garage
Veranda (in front of the house)
BasementPlayroom – for the grown-ups
A describtion of every room will follow later – one post per room (except the children’s room, that’ll be just one post). I intend to place my house somewhere at the outskirts of a large town, not sure if that will be in London though – more likely somewhere in the USA.
The architectural style should be like in the picture – just a bit bigger.
