Just started to learn Irish by myself. My English teacher is from Ireland and the first Irish word I heard was “Taoiseach” (Irish prime minister) as we were talking about the Irish economy. Then, later on, when I started to read the Irish Times which also used some Irish political terms such as Oireachtas, TD, Tánaiste, Dáil and Gardaí, I learnt even more words and became gradually more interested in the language.
Thus far, I know the numbers from 1-20, colours, some animals and some basic and political terms. Now, I just need to keep practicing ^^
