I finally decide to purchase a laptop computer, an Apple G4 PowerBook, which I do on December 26.
And on January 10, which would be almost precisely two weeks later, Apple announces The MacBook Pro “featuring an Intel Core Duo processor which delivers up to four times the performance of the PowerBook G4.”
Consider “Grrrrr….” to be a family-friendly euphemism for my actual thoughts at this time.
Happy New Year to you, too, Mister Jobs. I trust you’re enjoying the laugh you’re having at my expense.
Oh, and, to pour even more water into my sinking boat, I upgraded the internal RAM to 2 gigabytes. Cool, huh? At least I didn’t pay Apple prices for the memory upgrade!
Also, somehow, despite my advertising-influenced fantasies, wirelessly cruising cyberspace in public on a groovy new PowerBook has NOT generated the expected interest from bevies of beautiful and intelligent cutie-honeys.
I guess maybe I shoulda bought a Vaio.
