I’m doing it this year. I need a project to learn the language, and a cheat sheet to speed up development in the early stages (see http://www.petefreitag.com/item/455.cfm for examples of what I mean by this).
Any suggestions for either?

I’m currently learning Ruby from Why’s Poignant Guide to Ruby”. It’s okay, but the endless stories get in the way of the actual code. I guess it’s ideal for those who are new to programming and want to spend a bit more time with Ruby than I do :)
I’ll try to pick a piece of software written entirely in Ruby, I normally learn well from example. Any suggestions?
