When I created this goal, I knew that de-stressor isn’t really I word, but I couldn’t think of another word. Later I realized that stress reliever is the proper term, but I really couldn’t think of it at the time. Oh well.

When the robots introduced the like/tweet/share buttons, this website raised my stress level, instead of lowering it. I thought about deleting my account, but I’m glad I waited to see how things played out. (I’m more or less okay with the compromise – the robots obviously will never remove the buttons, but at least they’re now hidden by default.)

I’m still here, so I obviously decided to keep my account active. For one thing, if I deleted my account, I’m not so sure I would continue pursuing some of my goals. But with the account active, I’m reminded of my goals regularly, and I have a chance to brag when I work on a goal. And everyone is so supportive here, in a much different way than the people I know offline.

So now that the dust has settled from the like/tweet/share buttons, 43T has become a good antidote to stress once again.

I’ve had a 43T account for about 3.5 years, but I was never too involved in the site. I only wrote a few entries and gave a few cheers each year.

But about 6 weeks ago, for whatever reason, something clicked and I started using the site regularly. Since then, I’ve given (and received) dozens of cheers, and written entries more often.

And the more I use it, the more I find that it’s really nice to just look through the site, and see all the goals people are working at, and how supportive everyone is of each other. And so it’s become a de-stressor for me.

David has gotten 31 cheers on this goal.
