knit a sweater

Ok, so the scarf turned potentially purse/shawl has turned into a throw and I am really psyched about it. Also I have finally started on the elusive sweater and it’s going really well!!! Even better news on the knitting front is that I got my friend back into knitting and she has become hooked as well!!!

Look at me actually making progress on a goal!!!

I really want to be knitting something more than a scarf but it seems like I have been in the scarf holding pattern for a while. I am/was currently making a scarf for my sister in law and it turned out to be too wide to be practical, I was trying to figure out what I could do with it and I came upon this awesome site: http://www.knittingpatterncentral.com/directory.php

I’m now thinking about making it into a purse or maybe a shawl. We shall see….

I have knitted several scarves before but I am ready to try something more substantial. I bought the yarn for the sweater (or at least to start it) and today I bought a nifty book called “Cool Girls Guide to Knitting”. It has all kinds of basic info and includes patterns to made a simple sweater and even a hoodie! It also has patterns to make hats. I’m thinking that I may not go straight off to make a sweater but I will at least make something more complicated than a scarf!
