Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

Grrrrrrrr

I had been doing really well with this but this past week I fell into old habits. Yesterday I was so tired that when I got home I took a nap, then I couldn’t sleep at night and I was up until 4:30am. I am going to work to get back into my routine again.



So awesome!

I have been doing great with this goal recently! I had a hard time the first week of school but this past week I have been going to bed hours before I normally do. I think that it is in part because I’m really tired from school but going to bed earlier has made me feel a lot better during the day. I hope that I can keep this up!



So much better!

After a week of going to bed earlier I am already feeling so much better! I am more alert and more energetic than I have been in at least a month! I really need to keep this up!!!



Hitting bottom

I think that you have to hit bottom with some things in order to improve yourself. I did that with this goal. The last two nights I have gotten to bed 1-2 hours earlier than I had previously so I am already feeling better. I was starting to feel like the living dead!



Not good

I’ve been doing horribly with this!!! I have to really stick to a cut off point to just suck it up and go to bed!



Need more sleep

During the school year I never get enough rest. I think that this goal will be accomplished during the summer but when the school year starts again it will be a problem once more.
