It’s amazing how much you can accomplish when you give yourself permission to do just a little bit! Over the past couple of days I’ve actually done quite a BIG bit of tidying… I found that just putting away a couple of things led to putting away a couple more things, then tossing some other things, then putting some other things in the box for the garage sale, and so on! I still have a LONG way to go, but I’ve made definite inroads into the clutter this weekend, and will continue to plug away at it until it’s done.

There’s a LOT of clutter in my home. I’ve allowed myself to get into the bad habit of leaving things lying around instead of putting them away when I’m done with them… which is bad enough in a regular-sized home, but TERRIBLE in a small condo! Everywhere you look, there are piles of things that need to be dealt with (put away, thrown away, sorted, filed), and it’s really getting me down, so I’m going to start working on two things:
I’m going to try to get into the habit of putting things away when I’m done with them instead of leaving them where they lie.
I’m going to start cleaning up my clutter, bit by bit. I’m not going to try to push myself to do a huge cleanup all at once, as I know I’ll quit before I even get started (!), so instead I’m going to try to remember to put a couple of things away now and then, whenever I have a spare few minutes.Hopefully, between cleaning up the old clutter and trying not to create any new, my home will eventually go back to being a cozy, comfortable place to live.
