I have been on a serious reading hiatus. Too busy, lack the focus, etc.
I’m not going to give up on this goal though. I think I’ll just try to make it thru half the list then move the other half over to 2009.
Most important one is probably How to Talk So Kids Will Listen & Listen So Kids Will Talk by Adele Faber and Elaine Mazlish. I think I am in SERIOUS need of that one!

I just finished this book. As small as this book is and as short as the most of the chapters are, it still took me a week to read.
When I first started the book I loved it. The story, the characters, the history, the way he wrote…everything about it.
However, that being said, I was quite ready for it be over when I got to the end. I started to glaze over with all the philosophy talk and the chapters on “kitsch”. I think it was those last few chapters that took me so long to read. My eyes got heavy and I would fall asleep. But, as my DH says, there’s nothing wrong with a book that puts you to sleep. (Spoken like a true insomniac)

This might be an unpopular post. I did not love this book. I tried, I really did. I just had a very hard time getting into the lives of these rabbits. When I was about 80% through the book I started to really get into it. But struggling through the forst 350 pages does not make a good read for me. And unlike Snow Falling On Cedars, I didn’t get to the end and think “that was so worth it”.
I guess I can see why it is such a literary book, and why people may love it. It just wasn’t that book for me. Maybe it’s personal preference, or maybe I would feel different if I had read it at a different time. Who knows? I am glad it’s off my TBR list though.

I finished this book last night. Not bad. Pretty easy read. The characters were entertaining, and the time and setting were interesting. Other than that there’s not that much more to say.
