Turn into a painting machine

…But that’s what it takes when you have two shows nearly back to back and a gallery in NC asking for more work. I’m finally on the threshold of the last show at least for a few months and I’m looking forward to returning a more normal pace of working. I’ve got a show in the works for September that should be fairly conceptual and this will give me some good time to really sit down and contemplate how it’ll all go.

Between the hurricane (Wilma), becoming a gallery member, publishing my first book of paintings, and finding other local places to hang my work, I’ve been swamped. I have however managed to be fairly productive I think despite the craziness. I have two more paintings since the last one posted here.

Working a little smaller like this (10”x10” in the last one) really helps to prevent life from butting in and disrupting my painting schedule. I still have two other small paintings to do… from there who knows?

While I know I’ve been working as a fulltime artist for several months (free of any real income besides what I can scrape up from painting sales which essentially just goes back into the next painting and so on), now that I’ve committed myself to four venues for this fall/winter I need to make sure that I have enough work to go around.

This painting is a start. Hopefully I’ll be able to create several more before December. I need eight paintings for November… is that possible?? Another eight for January… and then ten or so for February.
