write more songs

Picked up a Blue Snowbal USB mic and the sound quality of my recordings is 100% improved. I don’t even hate my singing so much anymore. Got another inspiration this morning and have about 4 songs now that are in the works.

Two new songs recently, and the process has been fun and fairly unforced at this point. Two problems – I don’t like hearing my voice recorded and I need a better interface for the computer. I’m just using Garage Band through Mac and it makes things very easy in terms of production, but the sound quality is lacking. I believe I will need to invest in some hardward in order to achieve a better sound.

As far as listening to myself sing, I’m not exactly sure what to do here. You never sound like you think you do. That’s just going to take some getting used to I suppose. And like anything, I hope I improve with practice because right now I sound flat, flat, flat.

I have three in the mix right now that are pretty good. Just need to work out the lyrics, but I’ve got the melody and play against the rhythm down. Time to re-string the guitar, too.
