I have wanted to do this for awhile. It grew out of interest not in psychedelia or even goth culture, but because of this little bottle I bought in Paris.

The stuff is excellent. 142 proof, 130 distilled and infused herbs, a 400 year old recipe. It is complex and beguiling. It takes only a drop to completely fill your mouth and nostrils with an incredible head trip of sensation and experience. Not available in the US.
That got me to thinking that this is probably what absinthe was like. If not alike, then certainly this is from a very similar tradition.
I went out and got a bottle of Pernod. Very foul stuff. I checked around, did some research and found that most people had poor opinions of the current crop of european absinthes.
