Bike across the United States

I accomplished this goal in 2000. We went from San Francisco to Portsmouth, NH supported by a group [America By Bicycle]. They carried all our stuff and we rode from motel to motel [no camping]. The nice thing about an organized ride is that you get to meet a diverse group of people. They literally become family by the time you finish. There were 20 people on our ride. And, you have a sag and mechanics when you need them. The ride took 7 weeks. I raised the money needed for the ride by funraising for the Lymphoma Society. I believe I raised about $20K above the cost of the ride. If you really want to do this, just commit. It’s scary but just plan a day and commit. You’ll never regret it.
