I hear that the major landowners in Maui aren’t producing as much sugar cane and pineapple as they used to do in the last 10 years, specifically in Wailuku, Kahului, Pu’unene. I am wondering if they’ve been selling off to development and other building/housing concerns. That’s a drag. It may turn into another O’ahu. I’ve never been there. Could this change from a rural to more urban climate have any positive economic effects?
I’ve been thinking I will need to go over at least once to check out the scene, I can sure that things have changed since I’ve been there. Who knows, I may decide against it.
I hope that there are more mexican restaurants/taquerias in south maui since the last time i was there. that’s one thing i cannot live without- nope, no way jose. the other thing is getting the same cat food for my cat, he currently eats “innova” (made in santa clara or in the ebay like hayward or somewhere in calif); and i hope it can be found there. if not, i face some shipping charges and/or having to remind people to bring a bag with them when visiting. i may be being slightly impractical at the moment, but oh well…
