I checked our state’s health care worker registry and I am on the list! Now I can start looking for a job (part-time). I hope to find something with flexible scheduling, as I already work full time.

I took the written exam yesterday. Now I just have to wait for the test results, which should take 2-3 weeks.
I finished the classroom work and clinicals. We had our graduation on Tuesday. Now all I have to do is pass the certification test in April!
I finally got the blood pressure right, it was 110 over 70 on the “patient” (my instructor). I didn’t have the stethoscope close enough to the artery, apparently. I have to study this weekend for the final.
I’m in week 6 of the CNA classes. We have our final exam next week and then start clinicals. I’ve done really well on the classwork and labs, but was very discouraged today because I am having a hard time hearing a pulse with a stethoscope when taking blood pressures. I tried a few times and all I could hear was little scratching noises and then everything else in the room. I tried listening when someone took mine, and I heard most of it but couldn’t tell when it started. Finally the instructor, who was using a double stethoscope and listening to the same thing I was, asked me if I have had problems before with hearing – I haven’t before – and then she suggested I should take a break and try later :( I have all class time tomorrow to practice.
