get a tan

I just finished vacation and I finally got some sun! I went from pasty white to a light tan with still a little pink. I hope it lasts for a few days or longer. I might go to the tanning salon once a week to maintain it.

I haven’t tanned since October, until a couple of days ago. I need to go a few more times if I can squeeze it in, because I’m pretty pale and will be going to Florida in only a week now! I don’t want to fry when I’m there. I have the sunblock ready as a back-up plan. It would be nice if I could get a little golden color and just not burn. I’m not expecting to be a bronzed goddess.

I haven’t been to the tanning place for a few weeks. I should let it go for the moment. It’s bad for your skin…and the stripes on my upper back from the burn I got over the summer are STILL there, but they are becoming less noticeable now that I’ve stopped. I’m actually a little worried I may have caused some damage with that day at the pool. Once the spring comes I might resume tanning in small doses – like 10 or 15 minutes a week – just so I’m not a ghost.

I got an incredible sunburn a couple weeks ago. After some time has passed and some healing has taken place, it’s turned into a decent base tan. After next week’s trip to a waterpark, maybe I’ll get a little more golden color and not burn this time.
