be a better parent

I am and I have been. I love my kids and I realize now that I am a good parent, just that some times we go thru our ups and downs. Lets face it know one is perfect, I never will be, and they love me just the way I am.

I spend quality time with my daughter today. I took her to the pool and we had a blast. I have been taking the time to slow down and listen to her and she is just so amazing. She is so smart and beautiful and I just love her so much. I realized that when I take my time to talk to her she just seem’s to be more at ease and listens way better. So yippie for me!

As a parent you alway’s question am I doing this right? Sometimes the valadation come’s from situations in your childrens lives. I think so far so good, but could be better. I have two boys from a previous marriage and a little girl from my current marriage. I know that my boy’s are torn sometime’s because of there dad and myself, I don’t want to be that. I want to be their sanctuary. I want to be that to my little girl too. I want them to know that no matter what I will always be here to listen, love, respect and cherish them. Sound’s kind of cheesy, but I think if more kids knew that there parents would alway’s back them then maybe they would go to them more often. So I guess I need to ask my self these questions on a daily basis. Do your kid’s know you love them? Did you listen to them? Did you respect them? Did you teach them anything new? Did you hug them or kiss them today? Did you discipline with love not just anger? Yeah….I think this is a good start.
