spend more quality time with my kids

Since we have moved to Camano I have found myself spending wayyyyyyyy more quality time with my kids. We go to the beach almost daily and just relax and talk, watch the sunset, play in the water. We just recently discovered another state park and OMG it was so beautiful we had a picnic and stayed their for hours just enjoying eachother’s company. But you know quality time doesn’t just mean doing things with them, it means showing them you care in other ways. I have been working with them closely on homework and keeping their grades up, working to make sure that they get the help they need and that they are helping themselves. I have made sure to keep myself in check and on a daily basis we discuss what is going on in school, home life, and virtually whatever is on their minds. So yeah…quality time is great and takes many forms.

My kid’s are 14, 12, and 5 so I have to beable to find a way to spend quality time with them, and one on one time with them. It’s really hard because my boy’s go to their dad’s and he is like the disney land dad, you know buy’s them tons of crap and take’s them to some really nice places. I can’t really afford to do that, so it make’s it kind of hard when that is all I hear about. I have taken my daughter to the lake and we caught tadpoles and littel fishy’s. I want to do things that they will all remember when they grow up. I took them all camping and they love that, so more of that would be good. I think that really I just want them to each remember the good times. So I need inexpensive good things to do. Any ideas? Thank’s.
