1. Waking up to sun shining through my window.
2. Cooking a great meal for my family.
3. Learning about other cultures.
4. Explaining things to other people.
5. Childhood.
So many mornings of waking up before the sun does have made me hate ever waking up at all, but really, it can be so pleasant when done right. Nothing ushers in a good day better than sunshine and bird songs late in the morning.
2. Cooking a great meal for my family.
It’s not so much the cooking part I enjoy (I could do without spending 6 hours on something that will disappear in 20 minutes), but seeing the joy on their faces when they eat is worth any number of hours in a hot kitchen.
3. Learning about other cultures.
I was born to travel, I’m sure of it. I love to learn about other countries’ histories, cultures, and features. Eventually, I want to see every place I’ve ever heard of, but for now, simply learning about them is enough.
4. Explaining things to other people.
I don’t know if I necessarily want to be a teacher, but I can see the appeal. I really enjoy helping people understand things that they don’t. I just love that moment when you can tell that something is finally clicking with them.
5. Childhood.
I love working with, volunteering for, and looking after children. They are so unaffected by opinions or social mores: they’re (brutally) honest, they have no prejudices, and they live their lives to the fullest. Their innocence and their wonder makes me smile.
