Reccomended:

Alexandria Quartet!

Least Favorite book thus far? The Naked and The Dead

In high school I decided to do this for love of my AP Government teacher, but the demands and pleasures of college soon took precedence. Still, I only have 18 to go and now I feel a new energy born of the petty desire to finish before the other people with this goal.

These remain:
17. The Heart is Lonely Hunter Carson McCullers
22. Appointment in Samarra John O’Hara
43. A Dance to the Music of Time (series) Anthony Powell
56. The Maltese Falcon Dashiell Hammett
60. The Moviegoer Walker Percy
70. The Alexandria Quartet Lawrence Durrell
71. A High Wind in Jamaica Richard Hughes
72. A House for Mr. Biswas V.S. Naipaul
73. The Day of the Locust Nathaneal West
81. The Adventures of Augie March Saul Bellow
82. Angle of Repose Wallace Stegner
83. A Bend in the River V.S. Naipaul
84. The Death of the Heart Elizabeth Bowen
87. The Old Wives’ Tale Arnold Bennett
89. Loving Henry Green
93. The Magus John Fowles
95. Under the Net Iris Murdoch
98. The Postman Always Rings Twice James M. Cain

Incidentally, I’ve been hearing a lot of complaints about various authors who were or were not included. Anyone who desires the removal of Henry James or D.H. Lawrence ought to buy me coffee so I can talk this out of this unfortunate opinion.
