change my job

Work has just announced a big restructure, which affects the area I’m in. Some of my colleagues will have to reapply for fewer jobs, and it has been quite stressful for the last two days. I keep my job with a change in reporting line, and I think it’s inevitable that there is a change in my work. It’s difficult to be positive at the moment, because I almost feel guilty at knowing I have a job, but I do need to keep alert for opportunities in this.

This one is through a recruitment agency, and it’s not one I would have thought of applying for because I would have thought I didn’t have the right sort of background. However the consultant told me what her discussions with the client revealed as being important, and it does look like something I could do, and would find interesting. I figure it’s worth a shot, so I’ve completed all tnhe paperwork.

I’ve applied for another job today, one which is in a very interesting area of work. The previous job I applied for didn’t go anywhere, so I hope I do better with this one.

I’ve found one job which seems worth applying for, so I’m doing that. In my current job, I’ve been given an additional project, which adds some challenge. Also, our manager asked for volunteers for a working group, so I put my hand up. It will give me some additional experience in a useful area, and hopefully get me recognised by the right people. Some little steps in the right direction!

I’ve updated my CV to include significant things that have happened over the past year.

finding a new job or changing my current one to better suit what I want my work to be.

There are going to be some changes in my immediate work area over the next few months, so a change in my job is inevitable, and a change for the better is distinctly possible. I’m also going to look elsewhere as well. The more options, the better.
