be a better photographer

I realize more and more everyday that I’m a little too hard on myself. I haven’t even been doing this a year and I think I’ve done pretty well with the few classes I’ve been able to take. Once I’m done with school I’ll be able to really focus, not mention I’ll actually be living with and taking care of my favorite subjects (children!). But for now I have to concentrate on my senior percussion recital and graduation. Also, I desperately need to get a new laptop…

So an update from my last entry (which seems like a century ago): I actually got in to the gallery and my work was shown for about two months! I’m very happy and can’t wait to get to work with a new batch of photos. I just got back from a photo gig in Portugal. Woot!

So I’ve actually entered two of my digital photo pieces in my university’s gallery contest. They usually get 350 entries and accept 150 or so and give one person a $1000 prize for the top piece. I’m crossing my fingers to just get INto the gallery. The money would be GREAT but I’m still learning.

So I dropped my digital camera about a month ago. Ever since then the memory has been on the fritz. A friend of mine thinks it’s just the memory card, so I just went out and bought a new one. I hope this works or I will be severely disappointed.

Not much work to do with a kid this cute…and not too bad a shot for a tiny little digital camera…
