While I’m not getting quite enough sleep, I am sleeping pretty regularly. I haven’t been staying awake until drastic hours lately. I just need to nudge my bedtime up a little earlier each night now.

I have a feeling that I’ll do pretty well on this one this week, barring unforeseen circumstances.
Goal: In bed no later than 12:45 a.m. most nights, midnight if I have to work the next morning.

I’ve been totally letting this one slide. I miss getting my teammates’ entries on this one, they were a good reminder. Instead, I’ve signed up for the 43T automated reminder service. We’ll see if it helps!
I’m “on vacation” this week, enjoying staying up late and sleeping late in the mornings, so I’m going to try again next week.

I’m quite regularly not sleeping. I was doing pretty well for a while but then I started sliding again. I’ve totally bombed the last week or so. I didn’t even remember to track my times.
I’m going to keep my goal simple: In bed by 12:45 a.m. on most nights.
Mon 22 Nov – 12:40 a.m.
Tue 23 Nov – 1:15 a.m. – but I get to sleep late in the morning!
Even though I may not be getting to sleep when I know I should, I do have it on the front of my mind now, which was really the purpose of this goal for me. I do watch the clock at night now, and think, “Hmmmm, I should start thinking about going to bed.” So I think I have done what I can with this goal. Still, I’m going to give it one more shot.
I’m going to change my guidelines, though. I’m still going to track my time each night, but rather than try for bedtime at a specific hour, I’m going to just try to be aware of the choices I’m making. If I have a late bedtime one night, I’m going to try to go to bed early the next night so I don’t get too behind on sleep.
Sun 14 Nov: 2:00 – 8:00 a.m.
I had mixed results last week. While I did exceptionally well getting to bed early a few nights, I also had a couple of really late nights. I guess that would be called “irregular”, which is exactly what this goal says my sleep shouldn’t be. Also, because I had trouble staying asleep in the mornings, I didn’t get enough sleep, which is what this goal really means to me. But, going to bed that early is significant progress for me, so I’m going to call it a success anyhow!
In addition, if I do very well this week, I might consider graduating…
My goals for this week, modified to include slightly earlier curfews:- Lights out and no computer after 12:30 a.m., at least five nights per week.
- Up to two nights per week I can stay up until no later than 1:45 a.m.
- The night before a morning I have to be at work, I will aim for no later than midnight.

Wed 9 Nov: I fell asleep without getting ready for bed so I don’t know what time it was, then was up from 5:00-6:30 a.m. – ick – then went back to sleep until 8:15 a.m.

Sat 12 Nov: I don’t remember!
Here are my goals for this week:
- Lights out and no computer after 12:45 a.m., at least five nights per week.

Since I have been nominated for monitor this week, I thought I’d warn you all on our team what my proposed “punishment” will be (myself included): For every minute past your goal one night, you aim for two minutes before your goal the next night. :)
Sun 30 Oct – I think I was asleep by 11 p.m. Wow. Woke up early though. Probably 7 hours of sleep. Not good enough.
Mon 31 Oct – 12:40 a.m. but woke up too early again. 7 hours is still not enough.
Tue 1 Nov – 11:45 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. —first 8 hour night in a while. Still not fully rested. I’m going to aim for one 8 1/2 hour night this week.
Wed 2 Nov – 2:20 a.m. – extenuating circumstances – will make up time at some point later in the week.
Thu 3 Nov – some time between 1 and 2 a.m. – woke up too early again. Officially sleep deprived.
Fri 4 Nov – 9:40 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. – went to bed early because I felt like I was coming down with something.
Sat 5 Nov – 12:30-ish I think but woke up early again
...to put this out here this week, with the punishments that have been going around lately. But I will, because it’s time to get back on track.
However, I’m going easy on myself this week because it’s like being in a pressure cooker right now, coming back from vacation—so much to do, so little time. I’m going to make my goals realistically attainable and build back up gradually.
Goals:
+ Lights out and no computer after 1:00 a.m., 4 out of the next 6 days (Sun-Fri).
+ On the other 2 days, absolutely not after 2:30 a.m.
+ No curfew for Saturday, it’s a special occasion! :)
I won’t be accepting any work assignments because I don’t have time anyhow, so that’s not an issue this week. I expect that it will be next week. (Remind me to call my boss and remind her I’m back from my trip!)
Also, I reserve the right to make up for a late night with an early night!

Mon 24 Oct: I didn’t make it. I will accept my punishment like a big girl. Unless my teammates want to give me brownie points for Sunday night when I went to sleep well ahead of curfew?
Tue 25 Oct: After 1:00 a.m. but well before 2:30 a.m.
Wed 26 Oct: Around 1:30. I’d say I’ve pretty much failed for the week. I do need to get enough sleep the next two nights, though. Maybe a nap today would be a good idea.
