I funded more than 43 loans total, but then a few of them were refunded for clerical errors, or declared paid in full by the partner because of other issues, etc. I wanted to wait until I was sure that 43 people had actually benefited from my loans before I checked this off, and now I think it’s finally safe to say that this has been achieved.

...be refunded if the remainder isn’t raised in the next few days. Saidbek Aminov would like a loan for a new bedroom set. I suppose that’s why people aren’t as interested in funding this loan, because it’s not about attaining self-sufficiency and meeting basic needs, etc. But here in America, most people take out loans all the time for this kind of purchase – it’s called credit cards. I specifically chose to fund this loan because I can understand his desire for some nice furniture for his home. I’m hoping that perhaps someone else here would join me in this loan to help this man with his wish.
I’m so close to completing this goal! I only have a few more to go, and I have several loans being paid off this month, so I could roll them over into new loans, except that I really need the money back right now to help cover my credit card that has all of the Christmas expenses on it. I’ll still be able to complete this goal, it will just have to wait another month or two. I just can’t have quite that much cash outstanding all at once.
Even though I don’t really have the free funds right now, I saw another educational related loan on Kiva and I couldn’t resist. It’s for a school, and the kids in the photo were just so cute!
(But it’s really only #30 because one got refunded.)
To LASME LOU MADELEINE who is a single mom and will use the money for educational expenses for her three children.
“She is very exited to get a loan from people she doesn’t know but who think about her life.” I think it’s cool that the people receiving the loans understand how this works and can appreciate that there are people all over the world who want to help.
I also love that I’m able to help with educational expenses. Education is so important – it’s what I spend the majority of my time on. Hopefully school will help her children to be in a better financial position when they’re grown.
Jonah Ndirangu is a gospel singer and runs an orphanage! I wish him much success!
...but so what. The trick will be waiting until some of the loans are paid off so I can reloan the money I get back.
