in 30 minutes and 55 seconds…which equals a 8:21 pace! I know I can run an 8 minute mile for 1 mile…but lets see if I can get down to an 8 minute mile for my regular run of 3.7 miles.

I have noticed an improvement in my endurance and speed! 30 minutes is my standard treadmill run now. I’m doing about 25 minutes at a 9 min mile pace, and 4-5 minutes at just under an 8 minute mile! Now, to achieve this goal, I need to hold that 8 min mile pace for a full mile! I’m halfway there.
I can hold a 9:15 min/mile pace for 30 minutes. I’ve done it several times in a row. This is a major improvement for me! Next I’m going to add in some more speedwork, to get that pace down closer to 8!
times yet (on the treadmill…it’s been awhile since I’ve done speed training outdoors.)
It’s really a mental thing, mostly. I’ll make it happen this week, how about that? Just one mile, at an eight minute mile!
I’ve been running the exact same loop for the past few weeks, and I’m trying to get my time down! Beat the clock! So far, I’ve shaved 7 minutes off of my route! I’m almost at an 8 minute mile! Then, the goal after that is to increase the distance while keeping the pace!
