I am an excellent teacher

Well…last night I was exploring the dates for the Spanish Praxis..and it appears that because Spanish is a k-12 cert that I will also need some basic subjects test! I previewed it and OMG I will have to waste so much time to study for that test…. I was quite upset to see yet another hoop to jump through. It keep me up having a panic attack all night to be honest…But I know it will work out. Passing the Praxis I seemed impossible and now that’s behind me.

So my timetable is: I will take the Spanish Praxis in October.
Then the other in the spring.
Today I completed as much as I can for my practicum application. All that’s left is:
-Get money order and send form
-Get fingerprints after work tomorrow
-TB test ASAP once Im back in the states
-Mail it all off

-Consult last year’s schedule and books.
-Search for lesson plans and materials that fit the topics covered.
-Organize materials in flashdrive by topic
-Plan lessons
-Find play ideas and examples for the performance
-Find supplimental materials for the speech contest
-Devise strategies for handling the daily PE component
-Create a intro powerpoint and intro materials
-Create rules
-Outline major talking points for the first class

My students at school always say “Why can’t you be the teacher?” Soon, my friends, soon!!!!

My student who wrote the jounal entry saying I needed to be more encouraging, wrote the most beautiful thank you note as his final entry. It made me cry, and I will never forget him! My other student also wrote a beautiful entry about me at another time! My supervisor gave me an excellent recommendation for grad school. And the other day my principal stopped to introduce me to his boss and say that I was awesome!!! It feels great to be recognized. I want to work hard to continue getting this type of feedback. I also want to rememeber to give similar feedback to my students when they do their best!

Teachers who pass my group in the hall often comment and tell me I’m great with the kids. However, my one tutoring student wrote a journal entry about me and asked me for more encouragement. It made me realize I do need to step up my game!

My boss once again told me how great I am today, and that she would do anything to help me get certified :-)

I’ve had several co-workers describe me as “awesome” and “wonderful” and today the teacher of one of the kids I tutor came up to tell me that she notices an improvement in the little girl’s writing. Also, I won over another of my tutoring students. When I met her she said she hated reading, but I brought her a book that suited her interests and she can’t wait to read it every day! :-)
