2. Deep conversations. Staying up talking, late into the night, on car rides, road trips. When you’re not talking about what happened today or what assignment you have due next week, something real.

1. Playing games. Sometimes I guess it’s not fun because it mostly depends on the attitudes of those playing, but in general it’s a spectacular use of time and leads to some awesome and funny situations. I love games, particularly ones that leave the fun to the audience, such as Things. Other ones I recommend are Encore and I’ve recently become a fan of the Munchkin series. There tend to be a lot of puns and jokes in them which make just reading the game very interesting. And then I also love some better known games, such as Risk or Monopoly.
I first did this goal 3 years ago, and I’ve decided I’m not happy with my list or the way I went about it. I’m going to keep a few that I like, these are the ones that survived:
9. Waking up to a clean room, but not cleaning it.
16. Buying something and still liking it when I get home.
18. Looking at things that bring up memories.
19. Random Shakespearean phases.
22. Having other people initiate conversation.
26. Finding something I love but forgot about or thought I had lost.
27. Having something click that I can’t believe I didn’t understand before.
34. Rereading a set of books, especially reading them in backwards order.
42. Plunging into what you know is going to be icy water before testing the temperature.
46. To randomly start singing a song you haven’t heard in years only to find that you still know all the lyrics.
48. Having an event lurking in the near future that you really aren’t sure whether your excited of afraid of.
50. Getting a free sample of something, even if I know I won’t use it anyway.
51. Being so tired, you don’t even blink.
52. Using a towel as a blanket. They’re so much warmer.
54. Finding the coolest hat, even though it was made for another purpose.
60. Watching a Disney movie I haven’t seen since I was a kid and realizing how many jokes went right over my head.
64. Making a “loner” at euchre.
65. Mini-tools, unusable, but cute.
74. Looking at old school projects I remember staying up past midnight finishing.
75. Answering any “ultimate question” randomly with “42.”
76. Learning a new word via context clues and understanding the meaning correctly.
84. Drinking some of your friend’s Monster, even though you don’t really like the taste.
85. Doing something so extraordinarily cliché.
88. Finding a random use for an item I saved for no apparent reason.
96. Solving a mystery book or movie before they reveal the pivotal information.
By my count I need to add another 75 things. So I’ve found myself a new project.
