write more letters

i’m thinking i might call myself accomplished if i write one letter a week for a year – we’ll see if i can do it. but then, that kind of takes away from my image of myself as some kind of idle letter-writing letter of the beau monde.

i want to write to:
friends
pen pal
politicians
authors

one to a person that i know in real life, one to a penpal. that is totally accomplishable over a weekend. i have two typewriters, i can type them up wherever.

i think if i write at least one serious letter a week, like to a friend or to one of my penpals, that will count as having accomplished this. maybe i’ll make a list and then make sure i get one out to everyone, and then restart my list. i’m not really writing because i want to get stuff back, it’s more so that i can communicate without using the phone, which i hate.
