Become a better programmer

I’ve been trying to figure out the DirectX 9 SDK and am making good progress. I’m moving onto the Direct3D pipeline thing now, learning more and more.

I got top of the class in the end of year exams in programming! 84% ya’ll. So I am actually nailing this goal. Oh, and I’m coding in asmebly now aswell. Tricky stuff, I’m writing a raw writer. I’d say I’m up to about 150 lines of code. When I get it working, check it out on my site (if I ever update again).

A clever title cough. I’m working on a library for C\C++ that allows you to work with long digit-ed numbers in any base(up to around base 32,000). I’m doing this with Matt2Jones so we can examine some interesting properties of prime numbers. We are setting up a website soon so show our findings and make available the library and programs. Yea!

I had my first day of University today. Doing IT. Programming is the main focus of the course so heres to becoming a better programmer. My first lab is tomorrow. Gona be cool checking out what systems they’ve got to mess with.

I’ve toyed with things and now I’m getting down to some C++(which I’ve always hated on a principle basis) so I can join\start an online project, maybe one to write a multiplayer RPG or something. That would be cool.

I’ll getting Visual Studio 6 up and installed again on my box, and my first project(in VB unfortunately) will be to write an ordering program so people can view this novel I’m writing with a few friends in multiple orders, enhancing the story somewhat. I’ll then write on for the internet community(and multiplatform\different platform people) in Java.
