Back in Europe

Long story short, I decided I didn’t want to re-settle in Brazil after all. A week before returning to Paris there was a change of plans and now I’m living in Amsterdam, from where I was deported 2 years ago. They can’t deport me now because I’ve since acquired Italian citizenship (though from what I see of the Dutch us brown people should always watch our backs around here).

6 months in Brazil

Let’s see what this brings ;)

Ieper, Belgium

A friend’s been living in Ieper and I finally made it there to visit him. Ieper was destroyed during World War I and the museum (a must see there) shows the horrors of the war, in which too many men died. Soldier cemeteries supposedly are everywhere and there is a big memorial with thousands of names of those who died in battle. Cute city with sad history.

A little more of Italy: Rome

Beautiful Rome at the beginning of September. What a gorgeous city. I felt like a mini person walking around with the enormous buildings with their enormous doors and windows. The 2,000 year-old ruins are really impressive. I’d love to spend more time in Rome.

First trip to Eastern Europe: Lithuania

Back in May I went to a wedding in Vilnius and really loved the small capital city (300,000 people only). The food was great, the beer so good and the prices SO very good!

Moving slowly through Europe: Spain and Portugal

I spent 35 days traveling through Spain and Portugal in June and July. Beautiful countries, great food. Internet’s a pain in both countries and transport, especially in Portugal, wasn’t impressive.

Still, totally worth it. Sevilla’s way too hot in the summer by the way (47C!).

A Little Bit of Italy

Milano, Como, Verona, Padova and Venice, which is one of the most beautiful cities I’ve ever been to. Really amazing.

Ciao di Milano!

Italy’s just so cool. The FOOD! THE FOOD! It’s just so good. The cannoli here don’t even compare to what I had in NYC. The pasta is just so great. Everything’s just so good and cheaper than Paris.

The traveling continues!

Went to Stonehenge! Took a road trip from Paris to England for my 30th bday.

Also went to southern France, French West coast, Amsterdam and Istanbul :)
