Samba story (my most embarassing moment)

I’ve always wanted to dance, and dance well. I took a tango class last year in buenos aires but could never get comfortable with the other people in the class.
In brasil i danced the samba. i remeber one night in Pelorinho in Salvador (one of my most embarasing moments) going to this show with a couple of my brazilian friends, and they were all about hooking up with some girls. So me and one of my friends spotted a couple of girls dancing on one side and decided to give it a shot. well most of the people who were dancing were girls and this particular spot was very visible to the rest of the place. but we went and danced with these girls. I had no idea how to samba but i tried to just imitate the moves around me and i just went with it, right? well then after the first song I started to look around and all of these guys were laughing at me and even pointing! I looked up at the girls i was dancing with and they were giggling too. It took a second but I realized that i had been dancing the girls’ step the whole time because there weren’t any guy for me to watch! It didn’t matter though, I danced the same way for the rest of the night and enjoyed my feminine side the whole time!!! I still don’t know the right way for a guy to do the samba, but i think that after that experience I know that dancing is a lot more fun than just learning a couple of certain steps that you’re supposed to do for a certain role in a certain dance. Dancing is about fun, and I hohpe that I as well as everybody else here can get a little of that!
Cheers everyone!
