Last week saw me create the most indulgent, decandent package of Rocky Road for Matt’s Mother’s birthday. A ginormous slab of chocolate mixed with nuts, marshmallows, turkish delight, tim tams, raspberry lollies, clinkers and cherry ripe bars. Oh my gosh! She loved it!
I think Rocky Road is an Aussie thing?

Matt’s birthday is fast approaching, and I’m totally excited to be crafting his gift with my own hands.
The plan is, a homemade pair of pyjamas. He really needs a new pair, and I found some brilliant oriental-dragon-gone-retro fabric that suits him entirely.
I’ll also be making him a spectacular vegan cake, in a ninja or retro street fighter theme I think. He’s such a dag!

Well actually I’m kinda not – shhhh – but I’d like to be :)
This year I’m really trying to focus on all things local, simple and sustainable. I want my gifts to be plentiful, meaningful and creative. I want the recipient to know the care and love that has gone in to their present.
Last week was my best friend’s 21st and he loves old school cartoons, so I made him a huge batch of ninja turtles cupcakes. They were fantastic and colourful and apparently yummy (not vegan so I didn’t taste them). It made my soul happy to have delighted him so much, with such a simple well thought out gesture.
For my grandmother’s birthday on saturday I’ve made her an album with photos of my family and of her great grandson. I know it’s the best kind of present for her as we don’t see her too often. And grannies are awfully nostalgic…
I have lots of plans and projects for this goal – I’m giddy with possibilities!
