I managed to trace back one side of my family to Scotland 1700’s which was awesome. However right now I really don’t have the time or the funds or the energy to do any more…with the baybeh on the way and all I just wanna be focusing on less time consuming goals.
So this will be a goal to continue in the future…

Gosh this is fun!  — 1 year ago

That is a picture of my great uncle (and apparently famous) Australian writer, Alan D. Mickle. I found this in the family photo album of Alfred Deakin (who was one of the first Australian Prime Ministers). I have NO idea why he is in that family album though - I’m working on that…

So far I have traced back as far as 1759, to the town of Longformacus in Scotland. There have been some amazing personalities in my family, and I’m so excited that I’ve been able to uncover the hidden mysteries of what I thought was a rather humble ancestry.

I’m going to compile an album for my nan – hopefully in time for christmas.

It’ll be grand. She’ll probably cry…
