To kick this task off, I dusted off Journal volume VI, which covers the period from 1999 to the end of 2000. It is a little shocking to hear where I was emotionally, financially, professionally and physically 10 years ago. In 2000, I was caught up in a world of consumerism in california, living hand to mouth and yet spending at an irresponsible rate. My kids were a mess, struggling with the stress of private schools, and I was obsessed with getting ahead in a job that I left just 6 months later.
What does that mean to me about the next decade? Well, I’m going the right way, even if I’m not where I want to be. And in a short 10 years, all my kids will be grown. This decade could, and should, be the best one of my life.
