write a story in journal form, and post it here

I’ve been intrigued by historical correspondence, and some of the new written forms for storytelling lately.

So I thought I would try an experiment. Not that this is avant-garde art or anything; the short story in letter or journal form is quite old. But the idea of posting it in installments, like the way some of the Victorians wrote their stories, adds an interesting twist to the whole concept.

So here it is. A short story, written in the form of a series of journal entries by a troubled young man, during a troubling episode in his love. A love story. A work of fiction, but with the backbone of truth that makes such a tale more interesting.
