do the artist date once a week

In the Okavango Delta- an outside shower by myself, at sunset, with birds all around and good, hot water. Heaven.

Because my mother is here, I have essentially no time to go and do alone-treats. so two things I did alone while adventuring with my moother were:
-Climbing to the top of the overlook at the Cape of Good Hope
-Taking a nap on the rocks just south of the Southernmost Point in Africa

ALL WEEK is an Artist’s date! Hooray!

Went by myself to the open mic poetry at Touch of Madness. Really nice, and I just soaked up the words, had a delicious chai and a sandwich, enjoyed every second.

Last Sunday I went and sang/performed with a father and son duo. I essentially invited myself and we found some great songs in common, and I was treated to dinner (I literally sang for my supper) and got to see a wild bluegrass band play (I get to sing a tune or two with them tomorrow). It might be my best Artist Date yet!

the Book Fair! I took myself to three really interesting lectures, bought a new journal for my morning pages, looked at tons and tons of books, and had a really wonderful morning.

Both the National Gallery and an afternoon walking by myself by the sea, complete with a very nice pastry and wading up to my knickers in the waves.

I went to the SA Museum, which was kind of creepy, actually. Lots and lots of taxidermied animals, some beautiful stuff on rock paintings, and then a little bit of really interesting whale/shark exibits. I still need to go to the planetarium, though.

How the heck did this week slip by without my doing an artist’s date?? That is Not Good. I will have to really manage my time better so that doesn’t happen again
