The couch potato's guide to running

so my new routine… I am not quite a couch potato…but i been trying a reccomended workout routine that a friend has told me about
so here it goes….
week 1 – 5 min. warmup walk, then alternate between a 1 minute run and a 1:30 minute cool down for 15 minutes.
Week 2- 5 min. warmup, then alternate between a 1:30 min. run and a 1 min. cooldown for 15 minutes…
Week 3 – 5 min warmup, and then a 2 minute run with 1 min. cool downs for 15 minutes.
Week 4 same as week 3 but for 20 minutes
i am at week four… 10 pounds, 20 more to lose….
