become independent

This weekend I went shopping by myself, picked out my own movies at the movie gallery, woke up and did things all by myself, and was very independent. It feels good to know that I can stand on my own, when I need/want to :)

Up until I moved in with my (wonderful) boyfriend, I have relied on my parents and my friends and high school to tell me what to do, where to be, what’s cool, what’s not.
Now I’m trying to be my own person. Figuring out what I like to do and what I’m into when I’m all by myself is harder than I thought.
I’d like to get involved with some hobbies such as scrapbooking and maybe yoga, but I’m sort of afraid of being alone with myself.
Also, I am going to try to do more things by myself such as grocery shopping and things like that. I have started doing Saturday mornig yard sales by myself, and that little taste of independence has been very nice.
It makes coming home even more enjoyable :)
