start painting again

Somewhere I got really off course, but I guess that happens with all goals. I at least will be working really hard to enter 1 small entry in a museum show before the end of the year. I however can say I did get back up on the horse this year. Though I got really discouraged lately I feel a little bit more confident and hopeful for 2009. I think at least putting one small work in a group show will help me get ready for 2009 with better confidence.

Get 6 paintings done by the end of this year. Deadline of December 31st. If I get more done than that would be great, but 6 would be a good start.

I’m pretty excited because this weekend I’m going to work on a special drawing for some special people. I usually don’t like to do art gifts, crafts are good but not drawings or paintings because you never know how people will appreciate them. But this situation is different. I work at a vet hospital and tomorrow we are putting to sleep a very dear pet to not only the owners but to our hospital. We’ve been through a lot with this family. I just feel compelled to do something special, so even though it’s not a painting, I’m still including in my art catagory. I’m not looking forward to the day to give it to the family because I may just have a meltdown from the sadness, but I really care about these people. I just want to do something special for them since they were so good to their pet. They were the type of people that go out of the way for their animals. So It just makes me feel good to do this. Best project I’ve ever done. :)

I didn’t earn a BFA not to paint. So it’s just time to make time for it. All my professors warned me this would happen, life just gets too busy for it and that you have to make time. So I’m making time now.
