Always have something to look forward to

I’m looking forward to this month having shorter workdays for me, for not spending 10 to 12 hours at the office.

With fewer hours at the office, I’m looking forward to taking care of things around our home, to give it some much-needed spring cleaning and decluttering.

My husband and I aren’t going to do anything too special, but the day itself is meaningful, and calendar-wise, it’s a wonderful indicator that winter is behind us.

Starting next week, for eight weeks, we’ll track our walking (or substituted activity) and see if we can walk over 500 miles combined. We’ll have other team members, but it will be a fun way to log in with my mom, to be buddies with a goal even though we’re doing this long distance from each other.

Ha, that reminds me. “Long distance” will probably soon be a term of the past, now with calling plans, e-mails, text messages, and WebCams disregarding the physical distance.

Oh all right, we’ve still got six more weeks of winter, Mr. Smarty-pants Groundhog.

But six weeks are going to go fast because I’m so very busy at work for the next six weeks.

After that, the beginning of spring. Yay!

In ten days, on Kansas Day, the route for BAK will be revealed. I’m curious about the route. I hope that I can participate in the June event for at least two or three days, if not the entire week.

I’m looking forward to this weekend, my first “real” weekend of 2009, to do some serious goal-setting, planning, and revamping of 43T (since last weekend was spent catching up while being gone for Christmas and New Year’s).

We’ve been traveling since last night, to go to my childhood home for Christmas where my DH and I will be able to spend several days with my mom and dad, and my siblings and their families. Thankfully the weather cooperated so that we could embark on this journey! We’re not there yet (not by a long shot) but the forecast is excellent.

I’m looking forward to putting up our Christmas lights this weekend.

I’m looking forward to setting the clocks back, to get that extra hour this weekend. Yay!

My DH and I made our arrangements to visit his family for Thanksgiving. I love holidays!
