My one tomato plant has yielded at least 30 tomatoes. I didn’t record what kind of tomato plant it is; next time I’ll pay more attention to that. Like everyone else’s around here, the tomatoes aren’t getting red on the vine.
Again, I didn’t record what peppers I actually planted, although how many varieties of bell peppers are there? The peppers are showing up the tomatoes and turning a beautiful glossy red. I love it!

Two zucchinis have matured, and there are a few more that are coming along.

I started with two tomato seedlings in the container. One didn’t have the will to live, so I assisted in the suicide last weekend. Now I’m pinning all of my hopes on one tomato plant. The plant looks impressive, but there are no tomatoes. I did have two seedlings left over so I planted them directly in the ground. They’re my big Experiment #1, to see if they can do better than the container tomato. They’re not looking very good (thus my pinning-all-hopes-on-the-container-tomato statement).
The two zucchini plants are great with little zucchinis all around. No surprise. My neighbor says these are skill builders for beginning gardeners. I’ve tried to ignore them, but they are the Las Vegas showgirls, saying, “Here we are. We’re beautiful! You can’t ignore us!”. The zucchini are overtaking the two melon plants. Melons, you’re on your own. I’m going to let nature take its course and just see what happens.
The four peppers are kind of disappointing. Only one plant has a pepper. Come on, the rest of you, be a pepper! (Sing along!)
The pumpkin seedling turned out…to not be a pumpkin. It’s a zucchini plant. Now this showgirl is not getting enough sunshine. This is Experiment #2, to see if the good ole soil will be enough for growing the plant.

I transplanted these yesterday. I hope the magic of the EarthBox does its thing with the seedlings. The zucchini plants were especially leggy when I bought them on Sunday, so….fingers crossed.
Oh, and let’s not forget the pumpkin. I’m getting ready to put that one directly in the ground right now!

Now, I need some soil, some seeds or seedlings, and water. Sounds simple enough.

- Lettuce. Lettuce of all kinds.
- Green pepper.
- Squash.
- Green beans?
- Snap peas?
Now, about our little bunny problem…
